All About Spot is an online pet help and record service that keeps the information of your pets like Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, pigs, turtles, and other creatures. It is a website that helps keep track of events, plan celebrations, and shop for new pet-friendly toys, food, and services.
In the USA, people usually have more than 1 pet at home. It could be 2 dogs, 1 dog and a cat, or a dog, parrot & a turtle. In such cases, it becomes difficult to manage the information of the pets.The client identified these issues and that's how All About Spot came into existence. They wanted to resolve it by having a fully functional, user friendly pet record website that has everything under one account. They also wanted a feature where an owner can share just one field of information with someone. Hence, data security was also one prominent feature of this project.
The team sat down together to brainstorm on the requirements of the client. The TechnoCracker’s team took it up as a challenge and recommended WordPress as the main technology for this project. This project was about feeding in pet records, sharing it, and keeping information secure as well. The team decided that since it had a lot to do with data & ecommerce, WordPress & WooCommerce would be the best bet for this project. Moreover, this was one of a kind project for us, hence, our design team went in with a super-functional & responsive custom design. The target audience here was pet owners of the USA, hence, we also decided to give the website a modern look-and-feel.
The most unique feature was our biggest challenge. It was to keep the data secure while a field of data is shared with someone. For example, if the owner wishes to share his pet’s insurance information with someone, then only that field needs to be shared. The other fields had to be hidden. Custom feature & making sure the speed of the website despite the fact of pet records on the website.
All About Spot is a pet record management site & online pet shop. Hence, the entire website was divided into three main parts,
Pet Record Management:
We created a pet record form wherein every information of the pets, such as, name, date of birth, date of adoption, vet information, medical history, pet insurance, pet insurance company name, microchip details, vaccination, groomer details, training, personality traits, feeding schedule, emergency contact and so on, things were included.
Entire form was created in such a way that it does not give a lot of load on the website.
Fetch Pet Records:
It was also ensured that when an owner is sharing a particular information with someone, then other details remain hidden. Here data security played a huge role. Under this, you also have the possibility of transferring your ownership to someone else. This was a custom feature of pet record management.
Celebrate Spot & Pet Shop:
We integrated WooCommerce with WordPress to help develop the ecommerce part of the website. Celebrate Spot is a section where a pet owner can buy hampers as per different occasions like birthday day, welcome home, Valentine’s day and so on. The pet shop has a different range of pet products that can be of use in day-to-day life of a pet owner.
The entire website was designed from scratch with various customizations. Different features like saving, storing, & sharing features were added to the pet record management. The ecommerce side of the website was made with all the features of a top-class ecommerce website.
