all testimonialsAn independent fashion label based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, specialising in sustainable women's clothing. The brand had built a loyal following across Instagram (82K followers) and sold primarily through a Shopify store. They had made a strategic decision to migrate to WooCommerce to gain more control over their customer data and loyalty programme — and engaged a local Dutch development agency to execute the migration.
Primary Goals (at takeover): Salvage the failed migration, launch a functioning WooCommerce store, and begin paid media (Google Shopping + Meta Ads) ahead of the European summer fashion season.
The original agency had attempted the Shopify-to-WooCommerce migration for six months. What they delivered was a partially functional store with broken checkout flows, corrupted product data (200+ SKUs with missing variants), a non-functional loyalty points system, and a custom theme that scored 18 on PageSpeed. The client had also lost six months of SEO momentum — their Shopify URL structure hadn't been redirected, and Google had deindexed most of their product pages.
The brand came to us through a Rotterdam-based digital agency acting as white-label coordinator. They needed the full project rescued, completed, and launched within 10 weeks — or they would miss the summer season entirely and face a significant revenue shortfall.
The unique challenge: The corrupted WooCommerce database couldn't simply be wiped — it contained 3,200 historical orders the client needed for their loyalty programme migration. We had to extract, clean, and re-import this order history while building the new store in parallel on a clean install.
Parallel Build + Surgical Data Recovery
What We Actually Did
Summer Season Saved. Revenue Back on Track.
The store launched in Week 10, hitting the pre-summer window. Page load time dropped from 11.2s to 1.8s. The Conversion Rate on the new WooCommerce build was 54% higher than the original Shopify store — attributed to the custom Dutch-language checkout flow and iDEAL integration (the dominant payment method in the Netherlands). Google Shopping and Meta Ads campaigns reached a combined 3.8× ROAS within 60 days of launch. The brand's summer collection sold out two weeks ahead of forecast.
The Rotterdam agency presented the rescue as a case study in technical project leadership — and used it to pitch two additional eCommerce clients in the Dutch market within three months.
The Ability to Walk Into a Mess and Walk Out With a Product
Project takeovers are among the hardest engagements in development — because you inherit someone else's decisions, their technical debt, and their client's broken trust. Our structured rescue methodology — damage assessment → data recovery → parallel build → SEO recovery → paid media → launch — means we enter chaos and exit with a working, revenue-generating product. The client didn't lose their summer. The agency didn't lose their client. Everyone won.
We rescue complex projects and deliver results — without blaming whoever came before us.
Testimonial
"After six months of delays and €19,000 spent on a website that didn't work, I was ready to go back to Shopify and write off the whole idea. Technocrackers gave us a rescue plan on Day 3 and didn't miss a single deadline. The summer collection sold out. I can't say more than that."
